Hello, I'm Johnathan
I joined the Orchard Clinic in 2023 and completed my osteopathy training at the University College of Osteopathy (formally BSO) completing a Master's in Osteopathy.
Previously I completed a degree in 2005 in Exercise Physiology and worked in cardiac rehabilitation and exercise referral at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
I also have an ITEC level 3 diploma in sports massage, a pregnancy massage qualification and I'm currently focused on achieving a UKSCA strength and conditioning qualification, adding to my passion and experience of sports, exercise and physiology.
What made you want to be an osteopath?
I’d been treated by my club physio in Spain for years, and he was studying osteopathy in England and it sparked my interested in the profession. I retired from professional rugby in 2017 and wanted to advance my clinical exercise skills, so enrolled on the part-time degree and spent the next 5 years travelling to London every other weekend…87 in total!
What strengths or skill set do you have as an osteopath?
I have completed additional training in sports massage, dry needling, kinesio taping, pregnancy massage and strength and conditioning rehab. I excell at treating sports injuries and aiding recovery whilst balancing the need for training in sport.
What do you enjoy outside of life as an ostepath?
I enjoy travel, skiing, Crossfit, kettlebell lifting, Brazilian juijitsu and getting outside into nature as much as possible. In reality I’m gradually morphing into a taxi driver for the various sporting endeavours of my energetic young boys...
